Implement Overview

IMPLEMENT is the third phase of the District Assistance and Intervention Team (DAIT) process where the District Leadership Team (DLT) supports and monitors progress of the DAIT Plan, using the completed Action Plan Templates in the Action Plan Tool, for each priority area.

Critical activities include:

  1. Implement action steps
  2. Document progress

These activities are done with support from DLT and the DAIT.  At least twice per month, the DLT and DAIT post evidence of progress toward realizing action steps.

The key resources to implement action steps and document progress are included in the IMPLEMENT phase.

1_assess_bubble

The DAIT works with the DLT to assess the district's capacity for and commitment to change, using one of the recommended tools.

2_examine_bubble

The DAIT works with the DLT to examine and assess the district's current work and any initiatives that show promise.

3_summary_bubble

Each DAIT pilot reviews and discusses current district progress on PI reform initiatives and examines a Summary of Student Achievement, which is provided by the state.

4_administer_bubble

The DAIT works with the DLT to ensure that all schools have completed the Academic Program Survey and conducts site visits where appropriate to verify APS ratings. The DAIT enters results on the DAIT website.

5_complete_bubble

The DLT and DAIT complete the English Learner Subgroup Self Assessment and the Least Restrictive Environment Self Assessment and enters results on the DAIT website.

6_review_bubble

The DLT and DAIT review the Summary of Survey Results, which summarizes the results of the APS, ELSSA, and LRE and identifies tentative priorities for district work.

7_select_bubble

The DLT and DAIT examine the tentative priorities identified in the Summary of Survey Results and select 4-5 high-leverage priorities for district work.

8_plan_bubble

The DLT and DAIT complete the plan template (in the Action Plan Tool) for each priority - identifying the focus, specific action steps, person responsible, timeline, estimated costs, and funding source and verifying that the necessary district policies are in place.

9_submit_all_bubble

The DLT and DAIT post the plans on the DAIT website. The state will review all plans to ensure that they fully address the district's needs.
