District Assistance and Intervention Team Process
A district or local educational agency is subject to corrective action if it fails to make AYP for two consecutive years. The assignment of a DAIT is one of the option the State Board may invoke when PI districts move into correction action in 2007. The District Assistance Survey(DAS) Standards guide and inform targeted priorities for action planning through the DAIT pilot process.
The 2007-08 District Assistance and Intervention Team (DAIT) pilot is a joint initiative of the California Department of Education and the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association.
California Comprehensive Assistance Center at WestEd, in collaboration with CDE, is conducting a pilot of the DAIT process and tools with selected county offices and PI districts. Two districts in San Diego County are working with SDCOE's LRET division in this pilot.
