Administrator Training Program (AB 430/75)

Assembly Bill 430 (formerly AB 75) establishes a professional development program available to all administrators in California, as a focused approach to align school practice with state educational initiatives. It is mandatory for site administrators whose schools are participating in Reading First and AB 961, and voluntary for all others. The training is designed to support administrators facing the paradigm shift to a standards based, data-driven system. The state requires that administrators complete 160 hours: 80 of which are training hours and 80 of which are follow-up practicum hours.
