District Assistance Survey (DAS) Standards

	The DAS Standards incoporate the seven categories of district support that directly impacts student achievement. Embedded within the standards are the Essential Program Components (EPCs), keys to an effective academic program.
	Governance and Leadership Build a district plan that incorporates all DAS Standards and is based on state requirements, initiatives, and research-based practices to improve student achievement.
	Alignment of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessments to State Standards Optimize all students' opportunities to access appropriate standards-based instruction.
	Fiscal Operations Align resource allocations with measurable student achievement outcomes and high impact instructional goals.
	Parent and Community Involvement Implement two-way communication policies and programs for parents, families, and community members in support of students' academic success.
	Human Resources Recruit, select, and support strong site leadership and highly qualified teachers.
	Data Systems and Achievement Monitoring Provide and support student information systems to improve student learning and monitor achievement progress
	Professional Development Provide coherent professional development that reflects research-based strategies and standards-based materials for improved student achievement.
